Both entered the adult film industry at a very young age and quickly became the center of attention.

Mia Khalifa began her career in 2014, and her notorious first porn scene immediately sparked an international controversy. Her porn career lasted only about three months, after which she moved in a different direction.

Lana Rhoades entered the erotic industry in 2016 at the age of 19, and quickly became one of the most popular names on the most well-known adult film platforms — but she also spent only about a year doing adult shoots before retiring.

How much did they earn from their porn jobs?

In 2022, Lana Rhoades spoke on the Barstool BFFs podcast about how her job in porn was nowhere near as lucrative as many think.

"I didn’t get paid well in the industry. I probably had around $100,000 when I quit adult filming, and now I’m a multimillionaire."

Later, on the Curious Mike YouTube show, she shared more details about her earnings, saying she received only about $1,200 per scene.

“People think I made millions from adult films. That’s completely false. I earned a TOTAL of about $12,000 in the industry, and after that, I never saw a penny more. Finding a normal job after leaving was difficult... it was scary,” wrote the pornstar.

Luxury came only after the porn jobs

Both actresses started OnlyFans adult jobs, which allowed them full control over their adult content and earnings – and both have earned significant amounts of money over the years.

Besides the subscription platform, Lana Rhoades also launched a successful podcast called 3 Girls 1 Kitchen, is active as an erotic model, and has millions of followers on social media.

Although she hasn’t officially disclosed her net worth, estimates place it between 3 and 8 million dollars.

Mia Khalifa also works as an erotic model and influencer, but her biggest income source is her OnlyFans job: reportedly, she earned $6.2 million on the platform in 2024.

In a previous interview with The New York Times, she said this is clearly her most successful money-making channel, as she produces highly popular adult content for her followers.

The erotic models also spoke about the dark side of porn jobs

Both women have previously spoken openly about their experiences in the adult film industry and how that period affected them. Lana Rhoades stated candidly that she was repeatedly exploited during her time doing adult jobs.

There were about three to five instances that were truly traumatic for me.

“There were times when I was sent to shoot with someone who was too old, or when I was pressured into doing something that scared me because it was too extreme. These were definitely very traumatic experiences,” she shared on her own podcast, adding that these moments ultimately led her to leave the porn industry behind.

Mia Khalifa reported similar experiences, saying she was exploited, especially after the infamous hijab scene that caused major controversy.

She also revealed that she clearly remembers the moment she first realized she wanted out of her pornstar job.

“It was like when the lights come on at 4 a.m. in a club, the floor is sticky, and nothing looks the same anymore,”
